Welcome to the inaugural episode of “Ben and Adam Do Things” – an occasional, special-feature edition of My Dining Room Table wherein my good friend and I head out into the world and do things!
This concept was inspired by my parent’s buying me recent purchase of a fancy H6 recorder that allows me to go out into the field and record things relatively decently. I told Ben about said acquisition and he says, “Adam, why don’t we take that puppy out for a spin?” Well me, I’m no stick in the mud, so I says, “Sure, why not?” And up from the dining room table we sprang, out the front door and into actual society to do things. But what to do first?
Well, seeing as Ben and I both travel all over the country all the time making drunk idiots laugh, we figured we would first investigate what those drunk idiots most frequently ask us about with regard to our home state: marijuana. Unless you’ve been in a sad, sad coma you probably already know that Colorado is the first state in the country to legalize marijuana – not just medical marijuana, straight up marijuana. Chronic. Ganja. The herb. Sticky icky. That dank dank, funky Thai dank dank, duck duck goose dank, or whatever the kids are calling it these days. And seeing as neither Ben or I really smoke pot, we figured what better way to answer all those drunk idiots’ questions then going out and buying some legal pot ourselves?!
So we headed out to Denver’s Discreet Dispensary who were nice enough to tour us around their impressive facility and answer all of our questions, no matter how insipid or uniformed. Which was very cool of them. The result is the podcast episode you’re about to listen to.
It’s a brave new green frontier here in Colorado, one we were happy to explore on this very first, very special, Ben and Adam Do Things.
