The inaugural Bentzen Ball in Washington D.C. was a complete success. Not one casualty! Among comedians anyway. A shit-ton of civilians died. Coudn’t handle the funny. Tig Notaro curated with the skill of a tiny ninja – if you ever watched any Kurosowa films you would already know tiny ninjas make the best curators – and the kids from the web site Brightest Young Things made us all feel at home. I performed three time and some of my favorite comics that I met or saw in that time include Reggie Watts, Rory Scovel, Matt Braunger and Kyle Kinane. Meeting Sarah Silverman and Patton Oswalt wasn’t bad either. Other highlights include meeting Spike from TV’s Top Chef, being ignored for forty minutes then eating delicious soul food at the Florida Avenue Grill, and not being arrested for throwing apples off of a roof. Also The National Portrait Gallery is amazing! One day I hope to have my portrait there. Holding a tiny ninja. Check out this slide show from the Washington Post here. The following is a picture of me from that slideshow. Thanks Washington Post!
